Our commitment to the future

San Pedro Apóstol Primary School offers a bilingual education through which each of our students receives our permanent attention, while we give them the best possible education in a caring atmosphere under the motto "happy and reponsible children".

During this period of time, our school guides the students to develop their social and personal attitudes, that will help them become respectful and tolerant individuals with themselves as well as with others.

The academic curricula is organized in two primary school cycles:

· From 1° to 3° grades, they are organized around integrating projects including: Art, Music, Natural Sciences and Computing.

· From 4° to 6° grades, they are organized according to subjects areas such as Maths, Language, Social Studies and Natural Sciences. These are taught in two terms of four months each, like it is done in the Unified Basic Cycle (CBU) in the Secondary School.

Our students are introduced to the Arts, through special projects that combine Music and Artistic activities.

The English language is taught as a second language aiming at a fluent and natural development of the four skills: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. Our teaching methodology combines the best features of the most modern and well-known teaching approaches. The English curricular organisation, during the afternoon, includes the teaching of subjects such as Language,(grammar, spelling, writing and vocabulary), Social Studies, and Natural Sciences, which are also taught through different projects in the Computer Laboratory.

From an early age, our students are prepared to sit for international English exams, either oral or written, paper or computer-based, from the most prestigious institutions. This training aims at the highest levels of learning and international recognition of their knowledge in the foreign language.

The Primary School student reaches the end of this school stage having achieved a high level of fluency and language skills, and graduates with a Primary Bilingual Education Certificate, in addition to the certificates issued by Trinity College London and Cambridge ESOL Examinations.

Moreover, our students are annually engaged in various projects, completely developed in English, like the English Campaings to motivate them to learn the language, the Social Studies Fair, in which classical plays are performed by the children, Art exhibitions and literary contests.
